BIOGRAPHY

Jody and I married in the summer of 1975 in Creswell, Oregon. She was in nursing school and graduated in late 1976 while I worked and went to college part time. In the summer of 1978, we had our first son. In the winter of 1980, we had our second son and determined we were finished growing out family.

In the early 80's we became aware of a little infant girl that needed a foster/adopt home. She had been severely beaten by her father and her prognosis was not good. We took her in and eventually adopted her. This opened our eyes to the plight of other abused, neglected and special needs children. For the next 20 years, Jody and I adopted 13 children, many of them special needs. We have witnessed God's hand move in awesome and powerful ways.

In the early 90's our family founded 'Manna Fellowship,' a group dedicated to taking nourishing food and soups, blankets, socks and the Gospel of Jesus Christ into homeless camps around Portland. Looong story, but an amazing experience as we sat around their campfires, threw footballs back and forth and shared God's love with homeless residents.

My wife and I have served as missionaries in these and other capacities, serving the poor, the orphan, the widow and stranger. The things the Lord has shown us and allowed us to witness are truly amazing.
